High performance continuously tunable top-emitting vertical cavity laser with 20nm wavelength range

摘要
The authors demonstrate the first micromechanical tunable top-emitting laser with a continuous wavelength tuning range of 20nm centred al 926nm. For 11nm of the tuning range, its threshold current and peak output power are <similar to 1mA and similar to 1mW, respectively. Over the entire tuning range, the threshold current remains <1.9mA and the peak output power >0.92mW.
