摘要
The structural evolution of all the (hk0) faces between Ni(100) and Ni(210) under activated nitrogen adsorption has been investigated by low energy electron diffraction and Auger electron spectroscopy. The structural behaviour of these faces gives a prototypical example of the influence of the steps in a dense face structure with adsorbate-induced surface reconstruction (here p4g(2x2)). Firstly, the quasi-centre of symmetry of the p4g(2x2) structure is revealed. Secondly, strong changes in the step characteristics and faceting are observed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
