摘要
To date, extensive efforts have been devoted to the development of new types of molecular metals and superconductors by enhancing interstack interactions. In designing a single-component molecular metal, the crucial step is the development of a molecule with a small HOMO-LUMO gap and a TTF skeleton. A new idea to reduce the HOMO-LUMO gap is proposed. The scheme is useful for future studies on the bottom-up construction of new functional molecular systems because the properties of the molecular systems are mainly governed by the nature of the frontier orbitals.
