Carbon nanotubes: Exceptional mechanical and electronic properties

摘要
Carbon nanotubes are expected to be very competitive materials: with tensile features that surpass by far their counterparts in known high performance composite materials. In conjunction to this, remarkable electronic properties make them ideal components to design new microelectronic devices at the nanoscale. We review some recents results that confirm expectional mechanical properties, and unveil new features of electronic transport. Both new findings characterize these new Glass of materials.
