Tumour cell invasion is a dynamic process that depends on a co-ordinated series of biochemical events. This review discusses the role of the proteolytic enzyme system, the plasminogen activation cascade, in glioma cell invasion. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
