摘要
We briefly review the molecular mode-coupling theory which takes into account both the translational and the orientational degrees of freedom. Depending on the symmetry of the physical system, several scenarios of ideal glass transition from ergodic to nonergodic behaviour may occur. The validity of the scaling laws for the alpha- and beta-relaxation, originally derived from mode-coupling theory for simple liquids, will be discussed. These predictions will be compared with results from molecular dynamics simulations. We will demonstrate which of the predictions are consistent with these numerical results and which are not. Particular attention will be given to the rotational diffusion tensor.
