摘要
Wet chemical synthesis of single phase CuInS2 Powder using copper chloride dihydrate (99%), indium chloride, thiourea and ammonia (25%) is presented. Attempts were made to achieve synthesis of a ternary precursor in the liquid state leading to its total and direct conversion to the ternary compound on heat treatment. Compositions of the synthesized powder for different PH (3.2-11.8) were analysed by EDAX to test sensitivity towards PH value. XRD analysis showed predominant peaks of (112), (020), (024), (132) and (136) confirming phase purity of the material. Optical study of the powder prepared with PH value within 8 - 11 itidicated a band gap similar to 1.5eV. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
