摘要
The feasibility of using MoO3 as cocatalyst in anodic TiO 2 layers in order to enhance the photocatalytic activity has been reported. TiO2 is one of the most important photocatalysts owing to its suitable band gap, nontoxicity, excellent chemical and photo corrosion resistance, and low price. Semiconductor based photocatalysis has received over the past decades considerable attention for its potential applications in renewable energy-conversion devices, degradation of organics in environmental pollutants, as well as in biomedicine. The anodic oxide layers were further characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The enhancement at lower Mo concentrations opens a wide potential not only for pollutant degradation but also for the full range of other photocatalytic applications.
