摘要
New clothes for an old player: Oxygen-induced deactivation of a fluorescent state can, in fact, proceed via S1 → S0internal conversion and effectively compete with S1 → T1 intersystem crossing (see figure). It has long been considered that only the latter process occurs. An O2dependent process that does not produce a triplet excited state can have significant photochemical and photobiological consequences. © 2010 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
