摘要
Seven topics related to the developemnt and applications of functional polymers are presented. These topics include extension of the limits of conventional top-down approaches to polymer processing, and the issue of breaking down the three-dimensional symmetry of the interaction between nanoscale objects into dimension-specific communication. Other topics included the control of mutual adhesion of objects using nanostructured surface patterns, and bridging the gap between synthetic polymers and biological structures.
