摘要
A novel reflection L-band erbium-doped fiber amplifier, based on a fiber loop mirror, is constructed. This amplifier reflects the backward ASE to the EDF as a secondary pumping source. A gain of 30 dB (an increase of 6 dB) is obtained, compared to the forward-end-pumped EDFA in the range of 1570-1603 nm. The saturated output power was 7.63 dBm and 7.6 dBm for 1580 nm and 1600 nm signals, with increases of 2.98 dB and 3 dB, respectively, compared to the forward end-pumped EDFA.
