摘要
Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) welds portable instruments that furnish rapid analysis of vapor phase samples with very low limits of detection. However, a problem with IMS data collection methods is that data analysis must be performed after data collection has been completed. Of the many data analysis methods available, few have been applied during the data collection process. Simple to use interactive self-modeling mixture analysis (SIMPLISMA), a data analysis method for feature extraction developed by Windig [1], has been modified for near real-time analysis of IMS data. A recursive SIMPLISMA calculation can be implemented such that spectra can be processed faster than they are collected from the analog-to-digital converter. SIMPLISMA has been modified so it is approximately four times faster. The modified version of SIMPLISMA is called RSIMPLISMA for the recursive implementation of SIMPLISMA.
