Important advances continue to occur in both our understanding and management of gestational trophoblastic disease. Complete molar pregnancy is being diagnosed earlier in pregnancy which affects its clinical and pathological presentation. The use of chemotherapy in persistent gestational trophoblastic tumors continues to be refined and our understanding of the immunobiology of these tumors has substantially advanced. 1040-872X (C) 1998 Rapid Science Publishers.
