On the pseudo compensation effect due to the complexity of the mechanism of thermal degradation of polymeric materials

摘要
A relationship expressing the dependence of apparent activation energy on the kinetic parameter of the real complex rate equation is derived. The obtained theoretical results are checked for a complex kinetic model of thermal degradation that consists of two simultaneous processes. It is shown that for this model, the apparent activation parameters are connected through a linear relationship that corresponds to a pseudo compensation effect. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Limited.
