A model for the rate of enzymatic hydrolysis of some cellulosic waste materials in heterogeneous solid-liquid systems

摘要
The enzymatic hydrolysis of some cellulosic waste materials has been studied in a batch stirred reactor at 50 C. A kinetic model has been developed for such a process based on the shrinking particle theory and Langmuir isotherm concept. A comparison between the experimental data for diverse reaction systems and those predicted from the model, demonstrated the applicability of the latter. In each case the mean absolute deviation was below 5%. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
