ELECTRON-IMPACT EXCITATION OF FE-XXVI - COLLISION STRENGTHS AND RATE COEFFICIENTS

Collision strengths for 105 transitions belonging to states of up to n = 5 levels of Fe XXVI are calculated in the LS coupling scheme using the R-matrix method and are tabulated at energies below 860 Ry. Resonances have been delineated, but the relativistic effects have been ignored. Additionally, the results have been integrated over a Maxwellian distribution of electron velocities in order to obtain the effective collision strengths. These are tabulated in a wide electron temperature range of log T(e) = 4.80-7.20 K suitable for applications in astrophysical and fusion plasma diagnostics. Comparisons are made with the available data, and accuracy is assessed.
