摘要
Silicon carbide (SiC) has been selected as one of the candidate materials for the first wall of a fusion reactor. However, SiC lacks sufficient plasticity. The authors have found a trace of room temperature plasticity in transmission electron micrographs of heavily neutron-irradiated SiC in a form of plastic deformation in narrow bands, namely, dislocation channeling.
