摘要
The strain Alcaligenes sp. 701B isolated as a potent producer of D-psicose also showed an ability forming L-xylulose from xylitol. Washed cell suspensions of the strain grown on L-sorbose oxidized 80% of the xylitol to L-xylulose in 24 h and accumulated the ketopentoses in the reaction medium. L-Xylulose was separated from the reaction mixture by activated charcol treatment and ion-exchange column chromatography.
