摘要
Very high alkali content borate glasses xM2O. (1-x)B2O3 (0.50 ≤ x ≤ 0.75) have been studied by means of Raman spectroscopy as a function of the nature and content of alkali oxide. An unusual tetrahedral BO arrangement with the orthoborate stoichiometry was found to predominate in Cs-, Rb- and in part K-borate glasses. The glass formability of the corresponding highly modified borate melts is discussed in terms of chemical equilibria which affect strongly the extent of the network covalency. © 1990.
