摘要
Isofenphos, the active organophosphate ester (OP) in a pesticide registered by the EPA for home and garden use, was applied in the fall of 1983 to soil in a suburb of Sacramento, California to eradicate the Japanese beetle. Questions as to the effectiveness of atropine and 2-pralidoxime; approved antidotes to OP poisoning, in treating acute exposure to IFP led to a multispecies study. This report of the first experiments on chickens and rats includes evidence that IFP produces organophosphate ester-induced delayed neuropathy in the chicken. Refs.
