A DIODE-LASER WAVELENGTH REFERENCE SYSTEM APPLIED TO THE DETERMINATION OF RB IN ATOMIC FLUORESCENCE SPECTROMETRY

摘要
A single mode wavelength modulated diode laser has been used as the excitation source in atomic fluorescence spectroscopy. A wavelength reference system was used to eliminate noise which originates from phase shifting in the lock-in amplifier detection system due to random wavelength fluctuations in the diode laser output. A detection limit of 0.2 ng ml-1 was obtained for rubidium in a hydrogen-air flame, which is an improvement on the lowest fluorescence detection limit reported up to date.
