摘要
A low-power discharge source of calcium ions is discussed. The voltage-current characteristics of this source under different experimental conditions are presented. The population transfer between the lowest metastable states of the neutral calcium (Ca I) and the resonance states of Ca II is investigated through a study of spectral emission. The results may be of interest in the spectroscopy of metallic ions as well as for metal vapour lasers utilizing ionic transitions.
