摘要
The work described in this paper was undertaken as a result of concern that high-flying aircraft might reduce the stratospheric ozone content by emitting nitrogen oxides which, at low pressure and in the presence of solar ultraviolet radiation could undergo a chain reaction with the ozone and so destroy it. Perturbation experiments simulating the effects of exhaust emissions, particularly nitrogen oxides and water vapour, from supersonic and subsonic aircraft fleets have been performed.
