摘要
Absorption spectra of Linde type A zeolite containing cages loaded with alkali metals Na and K were measured at room temperature. Two kinds of bands appear which are assumed to be due to an electron-hole pair excitation and a surface plasmon-like formation of the alkali metal cluster in the cage. In the sample containing the K metal cluster, an a.c. magnetic susceptibility was measured as functions of temperature and external magnetic field. A very large susceptibility was obtained at around 3 K in zeolite with a medium K concentration corresponding to 4 electrons per supercage on average. The temperature and external magnetic field dependences strongly suggest that this sample becomes ferromagnetic below about 4 K.
