摘要
An industrial concentrate (consisting mainly of pyrite and arsenopyrite) was further enriched by xanthate flotation of pyrite using various reducing sulfur-containing agents as arsenopyrite depressants, that is, sodium salts of sulfide, sulfite and dithionite. It was found earlier that gold is associated mainly with arsenopyrite in this ore: therefore, the pyrite/arsenopyrite separation would be of interest. The effect of oxygen in the oxidation/adsorption of xanthate on these minerals is known. as well as their different electrocatalytic activities in oxygen reduction. This is the reason why various reducing agents were applied during pyrite flotation, giving promising results for arsenopyrite selective depression. The process was also evaluated by electrokinetic and electrochemical measurements.
