摘要
A quantum mechanical description of optical soliton propagation in non-linear Kerr media is presented, based on a finite-dimensional Hamiltonian approach. The method consists in applying standard first quantization rules to a finite number of pairs of suitably chosen parameters which characterize the propagation field and are conjugate Hamiltonian variables. This simple approach allows us to introduce a new definition of the quantum soliton state.
