CURRENT AND ANGULAR-DEPENDENT TRANSPORT IN THE MIXED-STATE OF BI2SR2CACU2O8+DELTA

A phenomenology describing recent transport measurements in high quality Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O films and crystals in which the angle theta of the applied field relative to the c-axis is varied is illustrated with fits to experimental results. The data show no evidence for conventional flux-flow; the model features phase-slip in a network of Josephson junctions. At low temperatures, low current densities. and for large fields. the resistivity varies approximately as rho(ps)(H,T,theta) = rho(n)/[I0(gamma1/3(H,T,theta)/2]2 with gamma almost-equal-to A(T)T(c)/(T\Hcos(theta)\). The 1/3 power is characteristic of a ''stretched exponential'' response.
