INFLUENCE OF ANTIFERROMAGNETIC INTERLAYER EXCHANGE INTERACTIONS IN A DOUBLE FERROMAGNETIC FILM ON THE HYSTERESIS CURVE

The effect of the s-d indirect exchange interaction via a non-ferromagnetic region of a double ferromagnetic film on the hysteresis curve is studied. Calculations are performed for the discrete Heisenberg model of ferromagnetic films, with the Ruderman-Kittel-Kasuya-Yosida (RKKY) coupling between the magnetic films. Acomparison of the theoretical hysteresis curves and literature data is given. The hysteresis curve reflects the transition phase points, which are used for calculations of the interlayer exchange. The dependence of the saturation field strength and coercive field on the interlayer exchange is calculated. The s-d exchange coupling constant and the wave vector at the Fermi level are estimated from the interlayer exchange. © 1990.
