摘要
This study attempts to identify the major determinants of product innovation in the speciality chemicals industry. Results are reported from a study of 51 speciality chemical firms in South Africa. The results reveal that these firms are customer oriented, but deficiencies were uncovered with respect to product predevelopment activities, attention paid to marketing, and the use of outside technology and external scientific communication.
