SPIN-ORBIT EFFECTS IN OPTICAL-MODEL ANALYSES OF HE-3 ELASTIC-SCATTERING ON OXYGEN ISOTOPES

Angular distributions of elastically scattered **3He on **1**6O, **1**7O, and **1**8O at 14 Mev were measured. Optical model analysis of the data has been performed. In the case **1**6O case, a spin-orbit term is needed to provide better fits of the data at backward angles and this term allows a satisfactory calculation of the**1**6O(**3He, alpha )**1**5O reaction.
