We describe the deposition of SrTiO3-YBa2Cu3O7-x multilayers by pulsed laser deposition using a Nd-YAG laser operating at 355 nm. The SrTiO3 and the YBa2Cu3O7-x are deposited under almost identical conditions. The bilayers consist of a <100> MgO substrate with 100 nm of SrTiO3 and 200 nm of YBa2Cu3O7-x deposited on top. The YBCO film has a T(c) of 87 K and J(c) of 9 x 10(6) A cm-2 at 40 K. The trilayers are similar with 100 nm of SrTiO3 separating the two YBCO layers. They exhibit T(c)s of up to 90 K and the J(c) varies from 9 x 10(5) A cm-2 at 77 K to 7.5 x 10(6) A cm-2 at 40 K. X-ray diffraction indicates that the trilayers have > 95% of in-plane material in a-b register with the substrate.
