Effect of substituents in the ligand on oxidation of alkanes catalyzed by binuclear oxo-bridged iron complexes

摘要
Oxidation of alkanes (methane, ethane, hexane, and cyclohexane) by hydrogen peroxide and tert-butyl hydroperoxide in acetonitrile catalyzed by binuclear mu-oxo-bridged iron complexes [Fe(2)OL(4)(H2O)(2)](ClO4)(4) and [Fe(2)OL(2)(PhCOO)(2)(H2O)(2)] (ClO4)(2), where L = bpy, 4,4'-Me(2)bpy, 4,4'-(ClCH2)(2)bpy, phen, and 5-NO(2)phen, was studied. It was shown that the nature of the substituent in the ligand affects both the rate of the catalyzed peroxide decomposition and catalytic activity of the complexes studied in the alkane oxidation.
