STRUCTURAL COHERENCE, FERMI SURFACES, AND ELECTRON-LATTICE COUPLING IN HIGH-TC SUPERCONDUCTORS

摘要
The theoretical basis of the Eliashberg formalism of conventional superconductors is reviewed to survey it applicability (or lack of) to high T(c) compounds. Implications for the theoretical framework of several recent experimental results related to electronic and structural coherence are discussed. The emphasis is on adopting a consistent interpretation of experimental data and identifying important questions that should be addressed in the near future. A synopsis of calculations of electron-phonon coupling strength is provided.
