NEW SOFT MODE IN THE LI-11 NUCLEUS EXCITED THROUGH (P, P') REACTION

摘要
Inclusive proton energy spectra from the Li-11(p, p') reaction at E(p) = 60 and 100 MeV are calculated using the distorted wave method and particle-hole nucleon transition densities in a self-consistent mean field. It is shown that the excitation of a cluster of resonances with various spin-parities just above continuum threshold, i.e. a new soft mode, causes a very distinct bump in these spectra with the main contribution, at small scattering angles theta(cm), coming from the soft monopole transitions.
