摘要
London (1938) proposed that career motivation consists of three individual characteristics: career identity, career insight, and career resilience. The purpose of this study was to investigate potential correlates of career motivation. The importance that individuals placed on work and career, and perceptions regarding the presence of motivating job characteristics, were significantly related to all three aspects of career motivation. Significant relationships were also found between managerial support, career stage, distance from career goal, and the match between individual and organizational career goals and various dimensions of career motivation. The implications of this study for future research on career motivation and how organizations can facilitate career motivation is discussed. © 1990.
