摘要
The production of high-current ion beams of metallic elements has been undertaken using a modified version of the high-current ion source CHORDIS. The experiments were performed on both sites of GSI, Darmstadt and Danfysik, Jyllinge. Two different methods were tried: first, applying the sputtering technique to targets made by metallic elements, and second, using the chlorination technique. The sputtering technique proved to be far superior in that the metal beam obtained in this way was very stable and the lifetime of the source was long.
