摘要
Extensive petroleum shows have been sampled from the seabed of Guaymas Basin. These petroleums were generated at depth by hydrothermal activity from immature sedimentary organic matter and migrated to the sea floor. There the heavy ends solodify due to the temperature drop and the volatiles are emitted as plumes. Thus it is of interest to determine the petroleum characteristics of such oils for comparison with normal reservoir petroleums. An oil saturated sample of a chimney (Alvin dive 1630) emitting water at 200°C was studied. In contained 21.7% solvent extractable oil and 19.2% S moisture. The oil has an API gravity of 27.6°, a specific gravity at 20°C of 0.8891 and contains 0.99% S. The ASTM distillation yields (% vol.) are: gasoline 3.0 (IBP-149°C; IBP-300°F), intermediates (149-315°C; 300-660°F) 61.0, gas oil (315-538°C; 660-1000°F) 21.0, and residue (>538°C; >1000°F) 15.0. Gas chromatography and FT infrared spectrometry indicate that this oil is similar to typical reservoir petroleum, but with the low ends and aromatics depleted due to water washing. Mild thermal conditions are indicated by the absence of cracking products. © 1990.
