A HYADES DISTANCE MODULUS FROM TRIGONOMETRIC PARALLAXES FROM NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN-HEMISPHERE OBSERVATORIES

摘要：

New trigonometric parallaxes of high precision are presented for 10 members of the Hyades. Independent measurements of the parallax of each star were made at Leander McCormic and Mount Stromlo Observatories. No evidence for a statistically significant difference between the parallaxes obtained at the two observatories is found. The eighteen parallaxes (ten stars) with the greatest precision yield a weighted distance modulus of 3.m18 +/- 0.m09.
