MODELING THE REACTIVITY OF ALPHA-KETOGLUTARATE-DEPENDENT NONHEME IRON(II)-CONTAINING ENZYMES

摘要
An Fe(II) complex of tris(pyrazolyl)borate and benzoylformate was prepared and reacted with dioxygen in the presence of olefins. In the caes of cyclohexene, cyclohexene oxide was produced in 35-40% yield. In the case of cis- and trans-stilbene, the former was found to react to give cis-stilbene oxide in 50-60% yield and a small amount of benzaldehyde; no trans-oxide was observed. The latter gave no reaction. This system is proposed as a possible model for reactions of alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent Fe(II)-containing dioxygenase enzymes. [GRAPHICS]
