摘要
In a highly functionalized nonapeptide the amide linkage -CONH- between glutamine and arginine was inverted to -NHCO-. As an example of this difficult modification of the peptide backbone, a retro-inverso killer-cell epitope was synthesized for the first time with a combination of solution and solid-phase peptide synthesis techniques. The synthetic methods used are of importance for the rational design and drugs based on peptides.
