CALCULATION OF THE LINE EMISSION FROM CYLINDRICAL KRYPTON PLASMAS USING A 162-LEVEL, 511-LINE DETAILED CONFIGURATION ATOMIC MODEL

A detailed configuration atomic model containing 162 levels and 511 transported lines has been employed to calculate the line emission from optically thin and thick cylindrical krypton plasmas ranging in temperature from 0.4 to 2.0 keV. The total ion density has been varied along with the assumed radius to maintain a constant mass per unit length. Results are presented both as cooling coefficients and also as overall emissivity compared to a blackbody flux. Effects of line opacity, broadening due to mass motions, and ionic stage variation with temperature are analyzed for their overall impact on radiative yield.
