摘要
The reactions of H2, D2, H2O, and D2O with oxidized and reduced germania gel surfaces were studied. Bands at 3673, 3550, 3450 and 1620, and 2180 cm-1 were respectively ascribed to isolated Ge-OH groups, hydrogen-bonded surface hydroxyls, physically adsorbed H2O, and surface Ge-H structures. The extents to which the various structures were formed changed when the gel surface was reduced. Reduction almost completely eliminated the formation of isolated Ge-OH structures, although hydrogen-bonded structures were formed, and increased the surface Ge-H concentration. © 1969.
