摘要
Reactions of Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl6(thf)3 and 9 equivalents of LiNMe2 gave triangulo-Re3(mu-3-H)2(mu-NMe2)3(NMe2)6 in low but reproducible yields. The dihydride cluster was characterized by chemical analysis and spectroscopic methods. The latter indicate that Re3(mu-3-H)2(mu-NMe2)3(NMe3)6 has virtual D3h, D3, or C3h molecular symmetry. Rotation about the Re-N bonds of the terminal NMe2 groups occurs with activation parameter DELTA-G double-ended dagger (298 K) = 11.1 kcal/mol. The source of the hydride ligands is proposed to be amido ligand methyl groups. A qualitative analysis of the bonding in Re3(mu-3-H)2(mu-NMe2)3(NMe2)6 indicates that there are 10 electrons available for Re-Re bonding.
