摘要
An experimental reassessment has been made of the counting efficiencies of a number of liquid scintillation systems for aqueous tritium samples using a Packard Tri-Carb spectrometer. Toluence blended, dioxan and dioxan blended mixes have been measured together with a number of commercial systems available in the U.K. Counting efficiencies and costs are presented for all the systems together with information on the effects of different grades of chemicals. Figures of merit are computed and it is hoped that the choice of the most suitable system for a given counting problem is made more straightforward. © 1968.
