摘要
Limitations of current CATV system architecture are described. A hybrid optical fiber/coaxial cable architecture is introduced and the performance levels necessary for the optical portions of that system are explored. Optical device performance is outlined as it applies to such a hybrid system and there is an exploration of various optical components with the potential to be used in such a system. © 1990 IEEE
