Diaqua-1 kappaO;2kappaO-dibromo-3kappaBr;4kappaBr-tetrakis-mu-[methyleneoxodiphenylphosphato(1-)] 1kappaO:3kappaC;1kappaO:4kappaC;2kappaO:3kappaC;2kappaO:4kappaC-bis(tetrahydrofuran)-1kappaO;2kappaO-dilithiumdimercury, [Li2Hg2-(C13H2OP)4Br2(C4H8O)2(H2O)2], M(r) = 1615.9574, triclinic, p1BAR, a = 10.253 (3), b = 12.765 (3), c = 13.407 (3) angstrom, a = 63.42 (2), beta = 82.38 (2), gamma = 80.80 (2)degrees, V = 1545.4 (6) angstrom3, Z = 1, D(x) = 1.74 g cm-3, lambda(Mo Kalpha) = 0.71073 angstrom, mu = 63.92 cm-1, F(000) = 788.0, T = 293 K, R = 0.0303, wR = 0.0358 for 3240 reflections with F(o)2 > 3sigma(F(o)2) and 352 variables. The structure consists of two Hg[CH2P(O)Ph2]2 units, which bridge between two Li+ cations to form a 16-membered cycle. There is a Br- anion weakly associated with each Hg atom. The coordination geometry around each Li+ cation is approximately tetrahedral, involving one water and one tetrahydrofuran ligand at each cation, in addition to an O atom from each of the two bridging Hg[CH2P(O)Ph2]2 units.
