DETERMINATION OF THE SPHERICALLY SYMMETRICAL POTENTIAL COMPONENTS FOR LI+-N2 AND LI+-CO FROM TOTAL CROSS-SECTION MEASUREMENTS

摘要
Total cross sections have been measured for Li+ ions scattered by N2 and CO in the range EΘR = 5-1000 eV deg. Here E is the lab energy of the Li+ beam, and ΘR is the resolution angle of the apparatus. From the data the spherically symmetric parts of the intermolecular potentials have been determined over a wide range of Li+ -molecule distances including the attractive well region. The results are compared with other theoretical and experimental work on these systems. © 1990 American Institute of Physics.
