摘要：

The angular distributions of elastically reflected electrons from an evaporated gold film surface are measured at primary energies 400, 600, and 800 eV for different angles of incidence between 0° and 75°, and the influence of 2 keV Ar+ ion bombardment is investigated. By means of Monte Carlo simulations the theoretical distributions incorporating multiple scattering are also derived and compared with the experiment. The results reveal that the angular dependency of elastically reflected electrons for polycrystalline Au is dominated by the atomic differential cross sections for elastic scattering.
