摘要:
The micro-mechanisms of cleavage under notched-bend conditions for fully pearlitic microstructures compared to those exhibited by simple ferrite-carbide microstructures exhibit differences from simple microstructures. In addition, fine pearlite behaves differently than coarse pearlite under notched-bend conditions. Possible reasons for these differences are discussed. In addition, pearlitic microstructures appear to exhibit temperature-dependent values for the effective surface energy for cleavage fracture over the temperature range minus 125 to 23 degree C. An attempt at rationalising this behavior is presented.
