Two new furanosesquiterpenes, named isogermafurene and lindoroxide, have been isolated from the ether extract of the root of Lindera strychnifolia Vill, and structures IV and XVII proposed for isogermafurene and linderoxide, respectively. It is also suggested that the isogermafurene (IV) is not produced naturally, but is an artifact formed by pyrolysis of the germacrene type progenitor XIII. © 1968.
